Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return.
At Mass, you can receive the Body and Blood of Christ. Jesus said: "‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.’ The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’" (John 6:51–52). In Matthew 26:26 Jesus tells them how: "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."
It is good to have a personal relationship with God, but it also good to worship with the family of God. BOTH are important
From the many lessons Jesus teaches us, he mentions the gathering of community. He teaches us in scripture, that at any moment 2 or more people come together in prayer, God is among them. We are also taught to love thy neighbor. How can one show love by exiling themselves from their spiritual family. If you are a believer of God and are accustom to the teachings of the bible, then you know that God loves for us to be together as a family. The church is only useful if it is full of members. It is where we open our hearts and minds to the word of God and to come together to pray for eachother. everyone has a role in church. You must answer the call of God who gives you your role. wether it be a choir position, a readers duty, a minister's resposibility, a catechist's help.
Hell, in my opinion, is not being close to God. and it just seems that church is the closes physical location to God one can find on this planet. Being in church allows you to forget the world outside and to concentrate mind, body, and spirit to our God.
If your not a christian you don't have a role in it.... The Church is the bride of Christ, We have to be in the church to be apart of the family of God, for outside the family are bastards, they have no father,,, they are illegitimate. That's what good it is it keeps Gods family together, under one big roof,, so when he looks down he sees his family all together in one place,,,,the Church...

It's good for making them richer without working. Your role is whatever you want it to be.
It provides false comfort for people too lazy to think for themselves and work toward understanding the natural world.
I don't know your role in it. Up to you.
