Because log(x) has a domain from (0, ∞) and this graph is shifted one unit to the left.
1.) Where is his error? Why is the domain of log(x) (0, ∞) ?
2.) Smike also wrote the range of f(x) as [-3, ∞) because he looked at the graph, and the graph stopped at about -3 on the y-axis. Because you know that f(x) has a range of (-∞, ∞), how can you explain Smike's error to him?

It should be moved up 1; because the x values start at 0 and continues forever.the coordinate points x value is where the y value starts and the y value is where it ends, because both sides have no end, this it is both infinity
log(x) is a real number only if 0<x<infinity.
