Lets not pretend Karen Carpenter died from exercising while being on keto. She died because she was starving herself and because one of her treatments damaged her heart further. I cant even find any info saying she was on keto at all. Yall making up stuff because you hate keto for some reason.
It is fueling off fat unless you start engaging in physical activity that puts you at an oxygen deficit, at which point you will start burning protein. That's why when you're in ketosis and trying to lose weight, any exercise you do shouldn't be so strenuous that you lose your breath or can't continue to still hold a conversation.
In fact, anorexics in ketosis that exercise too strenuously end up burning protein in their hearts, heart muscle. It can result in permanent heart damage. That's how Karen Carpenter died.
