Yes they can if you damaged them.. and no you can't replace them at all..They will charge you & they can charge what it costs to "make them whole" in other words to replace with similar quality of what it was when you moved in. Normal wear & tear you should not be charged for. Big difference between normal wear & tear & damage though.
Of course they can. Doors should last lifetimes. They do NOT wear out. Curtains should last decades, with regular laundering. Three decades. You are supposed to return the unit in THE SAME OR A SIMILAR CONDITION. If the wear and tear can be seen on these things, then you beat them all to H*ll, and you will have to pay for the DAMAGES. You may call it wear & tear. I bet the landlord is calling it damages.
NO they cannot charge you if it is truly due to wear & tear. They can only charge you if you caused it. NO do not replace with cheap crap. They would replace it again with proper materials & charge you.
Depends on what you refer to as normal wear and tear? Are the curtains torn or faded? Are there holes or dents in the doors or do they just need painting? Your apartment should look more or less the way you moved in when you move out. If there were things that needed to be fixed and it was not your fault, you should have brought this up to the manager earlier to fix rather than waiting until you move to now worry about this issue.
The only thing I as a landlord would consider as normal wear & tear on curtains is fading. If the curtains are torn or stained now, that is Tenant-caused damage for which you are responsible.
Due to normal wear and tear, no. What you consider normal wear and tear likely is not. There is almost no damage that would occur to curtains due to normal use.
Hopefully the safety deposit will cover that, but if you’re still worried they’ll overcharge you than you may want to consider replacing a few things but don’t be too cheap about it.

Normal wear & tear no. Excessive, yes.
If really just wear and tear, no.
