Is it cruel to tell children that there’s an invisible man in their bedroom who’s always watching them?
If it is and, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say, “You’re damn right it’s cruel!” how is this different to telling them that an invisible god is always watching them?
Because G-d isn't a the boogie man or a creepy pedophile. And who the hell tells their children that G-d is always watching them in some sort of spooky way? That's just ridiculous.
Desiree, the first introduction to any sort of belief system usually occurs between child and parent. Parents who model nurturing love don't use a model like the one you've suggested. Parents who were treated poorly themselves might suggest that the "boogeyman" might get the misbehaving child or that "Santa" won't bring anything for Christmas.
Bad parenting cannot be blamed solely on poor religion. But the two conditions do tend to exacerbate each other.
Because saying that an :"invisible man" is watching them in their bedroom insinuates that the man is "evil", and it makes the child feel creeped-out.
But if you were to tell him that his father sometimes comes in and watches him sleep, and watches over him and protects him, the child would feel reassured rather than creeped-out.
God is like our Father - He is watching out for us, he knows what we are going through, and He's there to help. His benevolent presence is a reassurance to us.
Yes, I think it would be cruel to tell a child that and scare them.
I think it would be wonderful to let them know that they have a loving, wise and powerful Father whom they can't see, watching OVER them, however. It's all about perspective, and ignorance rarely explores other perspectives.
Is it cruel to tella Kid that there is a Guardian Angel to protect them from harm that is always with them but that they can't see? No. It's not like the Fundies telling them they'll go to hell.
initially God isn't an invisible guy in the sky. God is a Spirit this is everywhere. God got here to this international in the human style of Jesus Christ, who isn't invisible and is extremely alive. God loves feasts and celebrations, He loves kinfolk and He loves you. He does not like issues which will injury you, inclusive of eating to get inebriated, drugs that injury your physique and intercourse that brings illnesses. devil is a fallen angel who's certainly very attractive, it truly is the reason he appeals to people. He has no pitchfork. although, he's a liar, thief and a murderer. His purpose is to teach you against your writer with the aid of lies and to lead you to hell for eternity. Praising God is organic reaction to God for His love in direction of us. Praising God lifts our spirits and it is needed non secular conflict tactic. I see no longer something incorrect with giving compliment the place compliment is deserved. you are able to not teach God isn't authentic. so a techniques as people who you think of have in no way heard of God, that may not what God says, He says He shows Himself to all men. i could quite be the toddler in the Amazon on Judgement day who in basic terms had his own strategies to ascertain God then somebody who lives in a rustic that spreads the gospel accepted. it could be extra ideal so you might in no way hear to people inform you approximately God then to repeatedly hear approximately Him and reject, reject, reject.
Haha, when i saw your question on the list i laughed out loud. It is cruel.
They are already afraid of the monster in their closet (aka clay aiken), but they can check for that before they go to bed. How are they supposed to avoid someone they can't see?

As always, putting your own twisted spin on things, aren't you?
You are the cruel one. People who are as hate-filled as you are what I see as being cruel. I'll go out on a limb and say that you are also dangerous.

There's nothing that keeps kids on the straight-and-narrow like making them ashamed of their natural bodily functions and giving them a guilt complex.

I had a habit of going through my parents pockets as a kid. They use to tell me there was a monster waiting in there to bite my fingers off.
