If “Thou shalt not molest children” was one of the Ten Commandments, would children be better protected?
Children who were the victims of paedophile priests and other sick individuals within religious organizations, were in most cases completely ignorant about what was happening to them. I’ve heard people who were victims of child molestation at the hands of Catholic priests say they thought the priest was performing some bizarre religious ceremony. If these children knew what child molestation was before the priest played hide the sausage with them, then they wouldn’t have allowed the priest to touch them, right? Is this a case of the so called “word of God” letting children down?

Probably not, I mean how many of the commandments do people really follow today? They are more like the 10 suggestions.
I doubt it. Not lying is one of the commandments, and I'm sure most of the priests lied about not molesting children.
Probably not since those who pay attention to the 10 commandments also have that prayer and forgiveness loophole.
