…a healthcare system designed so that profit making enterprises can make billions of dollars each year off the suffering of millions of honest, hard working people? Does this sound like something that the mythical Jesus would have wanted?

They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand. So God said, in effect, "If that's what you want, that's what you get." It wasn't long before they were living in a pigpen, smeared with filth, filthy inside and out. And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god, and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them - the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes! Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either - women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men - all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it - emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches. Since they didn't bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. And it's not as if they don't know better. They know perfectly well they're spitting in God's face. And they don't care - worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!
Actually Jesus had a better idea. When you are sick, you call for the elders of the church to anoint you with oil and pray for you. The prayer of faith will heal the sick and they will recover. I just paraphrased that scripture but that is the essence it.
Some are not healed for whatever reason. It that happens, then they do have to go to the Doctor. But I will tell you the truth, I don't believe there is anyone in this country who cannot get a Doctor to treat them when they are sick, insurance or not. You can pay them on time.
You can find a Charity Hospital if you cannot afford to go to a regular hospital and they cannot turn you away. There is also Medicaid for the very poor, for their children and for the elderly.
I think our drugs are priced out of sight and they should do something about the drug companies over charging but for the most part our health care system is the best in the world and Obama should keep his hands off it. It does not need to be run by the Government. They screw up everything they try to run. FEMA anyone?
You're making the assumption that corporate greed is why health care is so expensive. There are many reasons, such as the cost to develop drugs and treatment and people going to the emergency room for non-emergency treatment rather than a clinic. It takes no less than 7 years of development and clinical trials conducted by thousands of people before a drug can even be released. Jesus also taught personal responsibility and accountability, and said there is a limit to how much charity people should give. Health care is available to all taxpayers (called Medicare), health insurance is available to those who want to buy it, and smart people get an education and a job that provides and helps pay for their health insurance.
It is beyond me how anyone in the US can possibly say they can't get healthcare. There are free clinics all over the US; clinics that tax payers bear the financial burden of. Anyone with a sniffle can go to the ER and receive treatment. If they can't afford it, they don't pay it. The tax payers get stuck with the bill. Having been on the receiving end of both no healthcare and a health insurance program, it has never been a problem for me to receive care. Nor has it ever been a problem for people I know who don't have health insurance. Personally, I pay more to have health insurance than it would cost me to go without it. So it is highly unlikely that Jesus would have objected to our current system.
Jesus is the Great Physician and the only healthcare ever needed. In His presence the sick are healed.
There is no sickness and disease around the Lord because there is no sin around Him. God is Holy. Sickness is a curse and "a curse without a cause (sin) does not come." Proverbs 26:2 Whether it be the sin of the individual or the sin of their ancestors, the cause of a curse is sin.
jesus is real and no he would not want as much suffering as possible. that doesnt make sense. but anyways, the healthcare system wouldnt matter to him cause he can heal peoples health issues with his amazing powers.
Oh, I'm sure that there are biblical passages that Christians twist around to suit their convenience when they stand to make a profit on the health care system...
As far as I can see it is impossible to vote Republican and be a Christian. It was once possible when Lincoln was a Republican President but hasn't been for decades now. Those who pay lip service to Christianity while pursuing their own bigoted agenda are not Christians.
The poor can;t get good health care today,if we don;t have a high paying insurance then you die,,and if people think Obama,s
health policy will help,,...we either buy it from the Gov.
or we get fined for not buying it,,what will the poor do then.
I don't think he would. I think he was a very irrational person, and something as obvious as healthcare for everyone would have slipped right by him.
