Religious people and conspiracy theorists have their “Truth.” This “Truth” is different to ordinary day to day truth because this “Truth” is not supported by strong evidence. It is only supported by the emphatic claims of people who claim it is the truth and weak circumstantial evidence that is the result of confirmation bias. Some of the most infamous conspiracy theorists are the “9/11 Truthers,” who like to gather in groups and chant things like, “9/11 was an inside job” over and over just like religious people chanting about their gods. So this is an example of the same kind of mental process present in conspiracy theorists as in religious people, right?

No, if they did then they wouldn't call them selves theorists and they would kill the people who don't share their beliefs
I'd consider my self a "conspiracy nut" if that's what you want to call it.
Most religious people follow their faiths blindly for something which happend 2000. years ago, which may or may not be true, who knows. But i personally wouldn't let it effect my life.
Conspiracies is a totally different thing, i deal with hard facts and hard evidence, not word of mouth. But what i've come across is people don't question anything any more, people believe that their government tells nothing but the truth.
Do you really think that all that money and power would be given to the people to decide? I find it hard to believe.
"There is alot of solid evidence out there, not just here say of people claiming to be the truth.
The high office of the President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the American's freedom and before I leave office, I must inform the citizen of this plight." - JFK
It wasn't the rich bankers though who killed JFK for trying to change the banking system so that the US government can create money backed by silver, instead of nothing and it's not to do with the fact he signed a bill disallowing the federal reserve to loan money to the United States Federal Government.
it was damn russian obsessed oswald who wanted to get a little bit of media attention! I bet you within the next 10 years america will invade Iran and microchip the population!
But hey, don't listen to us conspiracy nuts, we're crazy for not agreeing that innocent iraq's should be slaughtered day in day out for the rich bankers to make more money. If no WMD were ever found, then why we still in Iraq?
Yes and no, a lot of people who are conspiracy theorists are very closely connected to the events that took place and believe what they preach 100% based on evidence they have collected. It is kind of like how many scientists claim their theories are facts because they have evidence that supports their theory but the evidence does not prove it 100%. When you are talking about religious people, their beliefs are based upon faith with very little evidence to back them up, so it is entirely different.
Yes, pretty much. Although I have to give a slight edge to the conspiracy theorists because their theories are at least sometimes prima facie plausible.
Building 7 wasn't even hit by a plane but rather it fell like a very controlled demolition. Hmmmm.
Yes conspiracy theorists and religious people have one thing in common. They have no evidence in what they are claiming and when their arguments get debunked they get butthurt about it.
Desiree! I haven't seen you in awhile, I thought you quit this place.
But yes they have the same basic faith as the religious people do. Same goes for the racists, Nazi people. It's usually something they were brought up with or around and they were brain washed with false science and logic. So basically the exact same thing as another religion, just lacking God(s), rituals and assemblence gatherings.
There is only one Truth, desi, and that is absolute Truth. Everything isn't truth, just because someone "claims" it to be.
Yes, and the same faith that some have in man caused global warming, evolution and abiogenesis.
I think you are quite right. They both exhibit the same rational for believing their truths.
Kind of scary.
