Christians: is part of the reason you believe in nonsense because you don’t want to disappoint your parents?
It would break your parent’s hearts if they learned that you no longer believed in the mythical nonsense that they coerced you into believing when you were a kid, right? You would look in their eyes and you would see shame; you would see the thoughts they were thinking, thoughts like, “My own child thinks I’m just a nutty, ignorant religious moron,” and you don’t want your parents to feel this, right? Is this part of the reason you can’t bring yourself to admit that your religion is really a bunch of man made myths and superstitious nonsense?

In essence, this is a very interesting question, though I think it could have been worded better/more mature.
HOWEVER, I have come across people who (when I asked why they go to church, especially if they say they don't want to go) is because "my parents MADE/MAKE me" this, in my eyes is wrong. Regardless of what you think is the "right" path, God gave us free will and free choice.

No, my parents would still love me if I decided not to be a Christian anymore. But I have no intention of doing that. I have struggled with my mental health for more than half my life, and to be honest, my life is still really hard even though I am on medication. If I stopped believing in God and the forgiveness that Jesus gives I probably would commit suicide, and in doing so, cause a lot of people a lot of grief. Maybe you think Christianity is a crutch, but God is my sustenance and my hope.
My parents are both dead. My beliefs are not nonsense for I believe in the one and only true God who is in Heaven and His Son and the Holy Spirit. He has been a comforter to me, a healer, a friend, my Heavenly Father and without His love I would be lost. I pray that you too will someday accept Him into your life.
