Since Republicans want “negotiations” what demands could Democrats make on their side of the negotiations?
If Democrats stoop to engaging in this way of running the government, what concessions should they demand from the Republicans in return so that they can “negotiate” and the government can reopen?

I would start with all Tea Party Republicans losing important committee positions for their near treasonous behavior.
They( democrats) should demand a six month deal to fund the government and debt ceiling limit raised by an amount we need but no more! They could give Republicans some small things like repeal the medical device tax .

If Democrats were willing to negotiate, they'd BEGIN by making SOME kind of offer - ANY kind of offer.
No, "do exactly what we demand" is not an offer. The GOP has already DROPPED virtually everything they asked for, leaving ONE SINGLE point of disagreement. The Democrats have yielded IN NO WAY whatsoever.
At this point in time the left has said give us all we want and THEN we will negotiate.
Personally I think if the left is willing to negotiate, the first thing they ought to do is allow a vote on the budget, pass or not it would provide the air of cooperation, unlike today where Harry Reid will not even allow a vote.
If they continue to stop a vote they need to take the blame as deserved.
It says a lot about modern liberals that they believe negotiation, compromise and doing anything to benefit the American people is "stooping" to some lower level of government. Could it be any more obvious that Democrats want an oppressive, totalitarian dictator running everything?

Republicans have only one condition - cancelling Obamacare.

or benefit reforms to SS/medicare... which some democrats have also said they are open to the discussion...
