@”not as think as you drunk I am”: I think you’ve actually inadvertently touched on the heart of the issue. The Republican fear is that Obamacare will be a success. That will be very bad for the future of the Republican Party. That is why they are trying to stop it at all costs.

Because they're trying to hijack the legislative process to achieve their political goals that they couldn't do through normal procedures.
If they wanted to get rid of Obamacare, they should have sued over its Constitutionality and let the SCOTUS decide. Oops, wait. That already happened.
If they wanted to defund Obamacare, they should have won the election in 2012. It was a central theme of Romney's candidacy. And yet, Romney lost, and Republicans actually lost seats in the House.
If they want to repeal Obamacare, they should propose a bill in the House to do so. Or over 40 bills. And let the legislative process work.
The fact is that every single attempt to use the normal process has failed, so they are now deperately holding hostage the government, and 800,000 people, to try to get it done.
Republicans won't pass a clean funding bill because they simply don't care. They hate the government, and are the true anarchists.
They have tried to revise the law the Dems won't even bring it up for debate because they know they could not win.
Second, CRs are never "clean" because some programs are always terminated and others are started and other politicians think it is a good time to pass stuff that would never get through otherwise.
Why is it OK for Democrats to add $2 of special interest legislation for ever $1 of aid to a bill helping victims of Hurricane Sandy, but not OK for the Republicans to attempt to give jobs to Americans through a pipeline that has passed every environmental check and to exempt people for a year from the mandatory insurance which even the IRS says it is not ready to implement it and Congress has already exempted themselves and their staff from or to get rid of that exemption? These are the answers thinking people want.
The people who are blindly supporting the Republicans this morning are ignoring the fact that House Republicans kept adding one rider after another ON THE LAST DAY, including one throwing their own staff under the bus by reducing their benefits, and then blaming Reid for not passing a CR. Reid and the senate DID pass a clean CR, one that would have passed last night in the house but one which Boehner refused to put up for a vote.
They should pass a budget for each individual item. They passed how many bills so far and Harry Reid has refused to even let the senate vote on it. So who is holding up progress here.
Obama and Reid want it my way or the highway. They have chosen the highway. History will not remember Boehner and Reid, but they will Obama. Look at the great depression, who was the speaker of the house and senate? No one can answer that without looking it up. Obama will be blamed for this by the history books.
they did, but the democrats refused it and obama said he would refuse it. not willing to compromise i guess. obamacare was made law against the will of the people. the constitution says it' s unconstitutional. the justice changed the law by making a tax on something not purchased instead of the way it read as a penalty. he did this illegally. they were supposed to send it back to congress to change it. so it remains unconstitutionally until made a law in the correct way. and yes he should be impeached, but won't happen. look at all obama did in violation of the constitution and he hasn't been impeached. the democrats and obama are completely to blame for the shutdown, but there not mature enough to take their share of the blame.
A) Most of the House gains in the last two elections were "stop Obamacare" candidates.
B) That also begs the question why won't the Democrats even TRY to negotiate?
I wish they would pass a bill that puts obamacare into its full effect that it will have in 2016
then no one would vote for another democrat for 20 years
They passed a clean bill that would full fund the military even if the government is shutdown.
Obama was not re elected by a huge margin
it was 51-47
4 point difference
nowhere near substantional
Why won't Obama and the Dems negotiate? In a 54 – 46 vote last night, the Senate rejected the House’s proposal for a conference between the two chambers to determine a compromise on the continuing resolution.
Are you really that dumb? They won't because they believe funding and enacting Obamacare will destroy the economy and the country. You know, what we elected them to FIX. They may be wrong, but I would hope by now you understand why. But comprehension was never a strength of the left.
