Ever heard of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Both non-believers. They give millions away every single year and have created numerous charitable organizations that they are devoted to. Wonder how many starving children from Africa and Vietnam this old man saved?

Why would an atheist leave money to a church? I would argue that if an atheist were to leave money to non family members, it would be to front line charities that help many people in real need. The various churches have plenty of funds, land and properties. As an atheist I personally donate to 3 charities on a monthly basis whilst I am still alive, therefore reducing my own available spending power. When I die I will not need any money. This gentleman chose to live in a shed - good for him! Everybody has a right to dispose of their assets as they see fit. I am quite sure that charities benefit from bequests from people with faith and without.

As an Atheist I wouldn't give my money to a church. I would find some other charity to give it to where I could count on it doing some good. If I give it to the church their liable to use it to fix the steeple or the heating. I'd probably give to the local soup kitchen, they are a faith based service in my area that is about helping people not themselves.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have left and will leave billions to charities, not churches, but then Pat Robertson who makes about $400 million a year leaves nothing to churches or charities. Chances are that money that guy left to the church will go to legal fees for clergy molesting children. Yes, as a good fundie I can see how you would be proud of being a fundie.

YES the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is one of the largest private charities in the world and it is run by atheist. The jerk off you mention helped a church pay off some child molestation charges while the Gates help the ENTIRE WORLD regardless of their religious affiliations.
