I can't imagine what it is, other than evidence, that would turn a hardened atheist into a Christian.
A christian may become lax, or jaded, and fall away.
But the only way to turn an atheist into a Christian is through information about God that he previously did not possess.
Einstein said it is easier to part an atom in half than it is to change a subborn man's opinion (or somthing like that).
It looks like a lifelong phase.

I was achristian when I was a child, cause I've been brainwashed...
them I grew up, started thinking, now im atheist
