Will my f1 Goldendoodle have furnishings? ?
I'm looking at getting an f1 Goldendoodle, but I'm worried it won't have furnishings. We looked at the father's genetic report (the poodle) and he has the FF gene. According to the research it says that a dog with that gene will ALWAYS have offspring with furnishings.
Is that true and would that mean my dog will have furnishings?

PLEASE SWITCH YOUR IDEA re getting a mix-bred puppy. I'll add a very revealing article at the end of this. ONLY BYBs mess around with long established breeds, and with all the will in the world, and all the F- something research you might do, nothing will mean you will only have a mutt - and at the moment with hugely inflated prices (UK - it may be different elsewhere) - be paying way over the odds for a mutt. And keep paying because BYBs rarely bother with testing and this combo. will be almost bound to suffer with HD and probably ED too which means PAIN later on.
No two puppies in a mix-bred litter will be exactly the same. This is the benefit of buying into purebred breeding - purebreds breed true meaning what you see in the parents, you'll see in their puppies.
Oh and the coats of Gooldendoodle are any groomer's NIGHTMARE.

You have a mutt/mix breed dog. There is NO predicting what any puppy will have, the type of coat, the size, or any thing else. Doodles are a nightmare to groom and keep decent looking. Most of the time they are shaved down due to the coat not being able to be to be combed and brushed. So your dog may or may not have furnishings.

There is no 'always' when it comes to crossbreeds... simple as that.
Hard enough to get specific traits with pure bred pedigree dogs and absolutely impossible with mutts. (which is what a goldendoodle is).
OMG it's a ******* MUTT. There's no "standard" to how it will look. How stupid and unethical are you that you'd hand over $1,200 or more for an effing MUTT from a backyard breeder????That F generation regarding this backyard breeders mutts it's complete crap. Filial generation is for WILD HYBRIDS not crossbreeding dogs. IE, an F1 Savannah cat is 50% domestic/50% Serval.
Goldendoodles are 100% BACKYARD BREEDER MUTT!
If you want a dog of a consistent appearance and coat type, buy a purebred dog and not an overpriced mutt.
What do you mean by "furnishings"?
Are you talking about the "poofs" of a poodle? Because a poodles coat grows all one length. The poofs are achieved by GROOMING the dog and clipping and scissoring the coat into that shape.
Theres no way to predict or guarantee what coat type your MUTT will have. The typical doodle coat is one that sheds AND matts. They often need to be SHAVED when brought to a groomer because the undercoat ends up as such a matted mess
If you want specific traits.. Then BUY A PUREBRED. Dont support unethical back yard breeders.
I have never rented with furnishings. I have also brought my own. Likewise, I've never had a dog with its own furnishings.
