What’s the major difference between these two words? Rancor and Disdainful?
I have a vocal quiz tomorrow and I always mess up rancor and disdainful because there definitions are so much alike. Rancor supposedly means to show a bitter resentment. Disdainful means extreme disgust to someone beneath you. These definitions are pretty similar to me. Can you help my distinguish them apart?

Rancor is, as you said, a bitter and resentful feeling. Anger is part of it. Jealousy often is, too.
Disdain is the feeling that someone or something is beneath you. The sentiment is, "You insignificant worm, you aren't even worth the air you're breathing."
