A helmet should fit your head snugly, like a baseball cap. you should be able to put it on your head with the front just above your eyebrows, and without strapping it on lean forward without it falling off your head.

But different helmet makers have different shapes to their molds, and one brand will fit better than others. You need to go try them on at your local bike shop(s) and decide which one is better for you.

As far as price goes, the costlier models will get you better ventilation, better fit and lighter weight.

I reccomend a fox flux helmet, or a giro xen. They are both really good helmets, stylish, and they have many vents to keep your head cool.
