They are both 17.3" laptops with the i7-3610QM CPU, 8 GB DDR3, and 1 GB 5400 RPM hard drive. Why is the Asus $200 more at Best Buy? I noticed it is 2 pounds heavier and an inch thicker, perhaps is it more physically ruggd/durable or have a much better battery life or much better graphics?
Update:DrDave, if you're going to play that game then I can go ahead and report you for not answering the question.

At a glance, the Asus appears to have a much beefier battery, a higher definition screen, more USB 3.0 ports, and is produced by a better name brand that more computer experts trust. Any person who's ever built a PC will tell you not to buy a Dell, and would prefer Asus as a brand instead. In this case, it comes down to how much more you'd like to spend on quality.
The ONLY lazy ***** is you Forest! You want free help yet you can't copy and paste the details in here? SECONDLY, since you want to insult us which is against the rules! I for one reported you. I hope someone else has sense enough to do the same.
Edit: ASUS not very good? LOL! They've been in the forefront manufacturing motherboards for the last 20 years or more. A good lot of the PC vendors on the market have been using their boards in their systems forever.
Edit: Have at it! I'm sure your insults to the askers will get you before you get me. The star should invite some more answerers regardless of what happens. Let's see who wins.
I personally LOVE my Dell Inspiron. It has Windows 7 so you have a dock at the bottom (or top or sides) like an Apple has. I suggest that names that are kind of unknown are not very good (like Asus).
Buy the Dell!
It's graphics is slightly better.
