Pretty self-explanatory. What meals would pair well with a Gewürztraminer wine?
Update:I'm looking for a wine to pair with the menu that follows (yes, all the dishes...and in that order):
Romaine lettuce, pumpkin seed and carrot salad with a vinaigrette.
A platter of meats and cheese (ham, salami, smoked meats, Gouda, Swiss, sharp cheddar).
Baked brie with cranberry.
Spinach salad with goat cheese, pomegranate, and pecan.
Breads (sourdough rye and french bread with whipped butter).
Garlic prawns.
Seasonal roasted vegetables (likely squash, peppers, asparagus, beets, and turnips).
Spätzle
Jägerschnitzel
Wiener schnitzel.

Start with the driest wine and finish with the sweetest wine.
Chardonnay to start before dinner
Nothing with a salad as it has to compete with the vinaigrette
Viognier or Barolo with the antipasto platter
Merlot with meats and cheeses
Ehrenfeltzer with desserts
Gewurtsraminer with fish and seafood
Ice Wine with desserts
Champagne with any course - I have had a wonderful time with a bottle of Asti Spumanti and a round of gorgonzola cheese and a wedding cake.....MMMMMM
Thick and rich wine, which can age, Gewurztraminer is better with sauerkraut, sausages and the Alsatian cheese Munster, curry seasoned dishes, chinese and mexican cooking and other spiced dishes. A Gewurztraminer can even be served as a dessert wine.
That is straight out of the French Wine Guide.
Gewürztraminer is a bold and sweet wine. It will go over well with most foods, but may overwhelm delicate vegetarian or white fish recipes, and not be bold enough for strong winter meat dishes.
a nice blond would be nice...
