Hi, maybe someone with retail experience can help me out. So I’m not going to be in the state for about 2 weeks for my cousins wedding (I know it’s a little long but the wedding events are spread out within those two weeks) and I asked one of my managers about a month ago to see if she would allow it and she said she would speak to the store manager about it and it’s been a couple weeks and I still haven’t heard anything. Our blackout days are from Nov 25th-Dec 31st and I plan on leaving on Dec 28th, now considering it’s only 3 days before the blackout period expires do you think they would deny my request? I have no problem leaving the job as I know it was temporary to begin with considering it’s a retail job and the fact I’m a full time college student, but maybe one of you could advise me on how to handle the situation professionally as I prefer not looking for a new job when I come back, I do plan on bringing it up again but some pointers would help, thanks.
Update:Surprisingly, I ended up getting approved for my time off request. I guess giiving notice way ahead of time actually works out in case anyone was in the same predicament as me.

In the height of holiday returns??? There is no way. I'm sure you will be looking for another job upon your return.
Ask her again. You're not likely to get the ok, but since is't so close to the end of the blackout time, there's some slight possibility. If not, since these activities go for two weeks, they might let you off for part of the time so you can attend the wedding itself.
I doubt they'd allow it but if you don't mind quitting over this then you could simply keep bugging them on if you can have the time off, wait until 2 weeks beforehand, and tell them you have to take this time off. If they say no, you quit with 2 weeks notice. I know you said you don't want to have to get a new job over this but it might a choice between getting a new job or not getting the time off.
Guessing from the majority of people saying no, it’s probably a good idea not to get my hopes up but like I said I wasn’t looking to stay here long term as it is. Appreciate the responses tho
Two weeks for something that takes two hours tops? I doubt it.
Two weeks for a wedding. And you are neither bride nor groom. I feel like they will surely deny it.
