A department store is having a 20% off sale. You find a coupon for the same store for five dollars off any item. How much would a $200 lawnmower cost if you took off the 5 dollars off before the 20%.
The available answers are. 150, 156, 160, or 162
I got 161 so don’t know how to get to the right answer

$200 item that has a $5-off coupon makes the price $195:
200 - 5 = 195
Then 20% off of that means that you may 80% of the price:
195 * 0.8 = $156
I'm not sure how you got $161, either. but my answer above is the correct one.
