Well you assume that the threats have come from conservatives when there is no proof to that at all. Republican lawmakers have come out and said this is the wrong behavior and not acceptable at all, and if you remember it was a Hillary Clinton staffer that sent the racist emails about Obama when all the democrats were saying it was the Republicans doing the smear campaign, and this could very well be the same thing.

No violence of this kind is a primal human reaction of protection. By no means do the republicans have a lock on this behavior. The most recent examples being in the Bush years and they go all the way back to our original founders. Its effect is based solely on your perspective. A small nation is in the throws of a civil war both sides erupt in a violent war over freedom. The problem is that freedom is based in the eye of the beholder. Violence comes when one feels as though the opinions or desires of an individual are being made irrelevant. In our current situation there are plenty of frustrated people. The other prospect is that of a guy that some might remember named Morton Downy Jr., in attempt to prop up his lagging ratings he staged a fake attack on himself and blamed those whom opposed his views. It was a rallying cry of sorts to energize his supporters and it worked it for only a little while. I don't feel that violence is the answer to our current situation. I am ashamed by those who feel that it is. However lets not incite more of such behavior by sensationalizing it and then acting as though it is only the capacity of a certain party of related people.

It's so amusing that you wacky libs are always spouting off on how 'violent' the conservatives are, when all thru history from the '68 national convention onward, the left has always been FAR more violent, destructive and hateful (real hate, not words twisted by the leftist media into 'hate speech') rhetoric and deeds.

If your daydream were true, do you think that the loudest and most visible of 'conservative action' groups, the 'tea parties' wouldn't be tearing up cities and smashing windows, burning cars and getting arrested by the busloads? Oh, wait, that's a flashback to the democratic national boys and girls visiting the republican candidates just last year, wasn't it?

Two of the most popular liberal news sites are calling for violence against Republicans for obstructing the radical agenda of President Barack Obama.

CNN and Huffington Post have each published op-eds this past week by regular contributors with headlines that explicitly call for Obama to use violent gangland tactics against his political opponents.

CNN published a column by Roland Martin on February 11 with the headline, Time for Obama to go ‘gangsta’ on GOP.

This increasingly violent response to anything progressive or liberal has been building for quite some time. Months ago there was a report about the increase in right wing extremist militias. Although technically nothing wrong, or illegal about that, it is still worrisome that my fellow Americans look upon my desire to help other Americans as a meddlesome problem that they need to arm themselves in response.

As a result this rise of "incidental" violence has an analogy. Imagine a punk little kid having a big brother that they believe will fight for them. The punk (the brick throwers and window breakers) feel "emboldened" by the presence of the big brother (right wing militias). If the militias did not exist there would be less chance of these occurrences actually happening in the first place.

I wonder if the first answerer actually realizes the twisted irony of their reply...

These kinds of q's from libs in the past few days are making me really angry. I'm old enough that I've seen lib protests and you people are crazy with violence when you do not get your way. Considering what is being done to the US, I'd say we're behaving with remarkable restraint.

Actually, the conservatives are taking pages out of the liberal play book. Remember the 1960's and 1970's and all of the protests? How about what happened in Seattle during one of the World leader meetings and riots then? Then again, most liberals have selective memory.

Like others have said, I see that a lot more in the far left and progressive crowds.

When they encounter an opposing opinion they respond like children throwing a tantrum. That may be because most ARE children. Teenagers trying to look "rebellious" by siding with an anti-American position.

All I know is, that my liberal "friends" enjoy slandering me at every turn when I speak fact about the health plan. If you don't go along with the sheep, they want to slaughter you. They team up and attack, the can't do it on their own. Liberals have been protesting for years on end about EVERYTHING, but when the Republicans do it... we are anti-American or racist. There is just no sense to even talking to them.
