I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 months and he had his birthday about 3 months ago, I spent weeks thinking of what to get him and gave him his gifts on his birthday all nicely wrapped with a nice handwritten card as he had told me earlier how he always writes birthday cards as his thinks they mean more than presents. When it came to my birthday dinner he Initially told me that he wouldn’t even come because he didn’t like a girl who was going to it so I had to practically beg him just to show up to my birthday dinner in which he would be getting a free meal at a nice restaurant. When my birthday came around he had stayed over the night before and I thought maybe he might have been saving his present until the dinner but it’s been almost a month now and still nothing, no card, no flowers. He doesn’t even pay for our meals I do, So clearly I don’t expect a lot from him, I don’t expect random gifts or anything but from someone who shows me his bank account balance just to show off how much money he has and constantly flaunts how much he spends on upgrading his car you’d think he would have been able to get me something to show that he thought of me right? Maybe I’m just thinking this is a bigger deal than it is, but I’m just sad that he didn’t really put any effort in for me :/
