i realise theres a few questions like this but none seemed to answer my question into whether this phrase (used like this: "Öptüm iyi geceler") is just friendly or quite personal? Like in english "xxx" is used for everyone, is this the same or is it personal! :D Thanks!! x
Update:i know it means "kiss" by the way!!

Optum means, I kissed you.
It is just an informal, sincere, sort of spoiled way to end the conversation.
Your boss or your teacher cannot use it to you.
You cannot use it to your boss or to your teacher
You should be kind of equals.
You can use it to your sister or a friend from school or to a work colleague you are sincere with
Another girl may use it to you without meaning anything lesbian
A boy may use it to you, but he must be sincere with you, and he must at least have kissed you a lot on the cheeks before he could use it
Some people use it a lot.
Some don't, because it sort of sounds spoiled.
Was this what you were searching for?
Ãptüm : kiss (you)
iyi geceler : good night
It's not personal, it's something friendly but of course not for everyone you can use for close friends, family members and loved ones.
Ãptüm iyi geceler - kisses for good night
My online Turkish dictionary says the phrase means:
I kissed you good night.
That sounds quite personal indeed!
