If you have your airfare and accommodations covered, then that would be enough to eat. If you got mainly supermarket food, there would be enough left over to drive to see some sights. You would still have to be careful with your budget.
$50/day? Obviously you just can't mean WITH airfare or hotel. If you do then you're dreaming but I don't think you are. I wouldn't go with that little cash but it could be done ~~for one person~~~. You won't do anything that costs money and you'll be eating cheap all the time, but it could be done. I don't see any reason to fly to Hawaii to live like that, though. Triple it and have a nice time.
