Two

As long as both parties have a mutual understanding before this kind of relationship then the outcome depends on your cultural identity. I am an American with an Dutch/German ancestry and cultural upbringing.
I was raised in the old Asatru way (Old Pagan Europe) were both sexes are equal and are responsible for our actions no matter how "Impaired our Judgment" was because of the conscious decision to participate is some debauchery.

To answer your question straight forth. It means just as it says. A good friends that you can enjoy your each others warmth.
How is being “friends with benefits” different from being in a romantic relationship?
In a romantic relationship the point is to find out if this is someone who you want to spend your life, energy, time, resources, and to procreate with.
How is being “friends with benefits” different from being in a close friendship?
Nothing but the knowledge of each others animal side...

They are the same.
I'm a girl
I'm 19
I've had 1 fwb relationship.
Friends with benefits means you're friends with someone but you get the sexual benefits of that other person. In my case, we were best friends, and we had sex and all of that. He had a girlfriend, and I was his friend with benefits.
You don't have to go out on dates with an fwb relationship.
Fwb is different than friendship because of the sex. Other than that, mine wasn't different at all. We were really close...just physically, too.
I don't think sex buddies and friends with benefits are the same. I think people who are your sex buddy might not be your friend, just someone you call when you want some. But friends with benefits are your friends.
