My daughter has an iPad that was bought by my partners ex husband , he set up the Apple ID and the iPad.
Her ex husband is no longer around and will not be willing to help anyway .
She has forgotten the Apple ID password and when she clicks the forgotten password option it says it has sent an email but she doesn’t receive any.
When we try to get any help from the Microsoft website it always askd for the Apple ID , i’ve Tried resetting the iPad but alas , it wants the Apple ID . What can I do ?

your partner's ex- is fully in charge of this.
the only other way [which I think is found online] is to completely wipe the entire device and start over as if it is new. This loses everything, including any iCloud content your daughter may have saved
No help from Microsnot on Apple products--competitors. Try Apple websites. Here is the official page for help from them:

The ID, email address, authorizations, and recovery key number are ways that Apple has made it unprofitable for people to reuse stolen devices.
If the registration of the iPad was done with your address and name in the past, then perhaps Apple might look up a way to identify that iPad and you together to get it going. The original purchase receipt (not a copy) and personal identification of buyer might get an Apple store helper to get it going.
But "P" might be correct. If someone besides you or daughter has activated that iPad when first used and still the registered owner, they are the ones responsible for maintaining ownership and any ID and email address.
Your iPad is cloud locked and no one, not even the FBI can break it. Realistically the only person who can help you is this ex husband. Perhaps you can bribe him. Otherwise the iPad is garbage. Just be careful of people who say they can help you unlock it on the internet, they are scammers.
