I stupidly took £60 from the till at work and got caught. I was arrested and charged and now have to go to court. Im petrified of whats gonna happen. Could anyone give me some idea of what to expect?
Ive only been in trouble once before and i got a caution but that was 10 years ago.

You may get a fine or community service but theft is a reason for dismissal so you could loose your job.
The impact of this on your life and future prospects if your employer decides to press charges is probably worse than the punishment the court will impose. This is regarded as a very serious matter, as you abused a position of trust. The amount isn't so important as the fact you took advantage of your employer in this underhand way. The court may wish to order reports with a view to imposing a community penalty, but there is a whole lot more which needs to be known about you and the offence before anyone can guess what will happen. Speak to the duty solicitor in court and follow any advice given. He or she can represent you free of charge and address the court on your behalf.
Of course, your employer may simply decide to let you go -- in which case don't ever risk asking for a reference.
You will be sacked - if you have not already. Your ex-employer can tell anyone who asks the reason why you were sacked.
You will probably be ordered to repay the money.
You will probably get fined.
You will have a criminal record for theft. This will affect your job prospects and may make some forms of insurance more expensive (as insurance firms consider a record for theft makes the person a higher risk for insurance fraud).
Your case might be reported in a local newspaper.
For a start you will be sacked
It is possible you could get a custodial sentence for theft but more likely just a community service sentence or fine.
You will now have a criminal record.
You'll probably get a caution and certainly your P45
Slap on the wrist, community service...P45...criminal record.
My daughter got fired from a major retailer because they said the till was short but they didn't bring charges against her.
If they were to do anything you would be in jail now awaiting your trial..
deal with the consequences. why the heck would you steal that from Work of all places??? stoopid
Prison?
