this is my fifth hawley retainer, since the others have broken or been lost. i recently had a hawley retainer with no wire in the front because i would put a rubber band there so that.my gasp would close more quickly. that one bent a bit out of shape at the wire, however it still managed to work until i got a new one.
this new one is smaller, and doesn’t push up all the way to my gums. they didn’t use the regular clay-like mold, they just x-rayed my teeth. so the retainer doesn’t touch the roof of my mouth at all. if you look up hawley retainer, you see the pointed edges that are supposed to fit around the back of your teeth and can sit right below the gums. but mine doesn’t have that. it fits around the teeth and won’t touch the roof of my mouth. what should i do?

Why are you taking benedryl, for that?
Benedryl is for an allergic reaction.
If you’re in pain, you should be taking a pain reliever, like Tylenol or Aleve.
That amount of benedryl won’t make you sick or anything. It will just make you drowsy.
