My cat is 2 & hasn't been around to many animals maybe like 2 at the most. I do know he is afraid of the outdoors. I have had my fish for a while, but not really where the cat could see it. I recently moved it and it is in reachable distance for the cat and he has been watching the fish like a hawk. So I sat down to observe the fish and I put the cat in my lap to see and he was staring intently and then a few minutes after watching he got his claws out. ...would this mean he is afraid of the fish?
Update:to note i wasn't making a big deal about it. I was just curious. this is yahoo answers, you know where people ask question. and if you don' care then you didn't need to post a response. so maybe "ellie H" you should get off yahoo answers!

hmm maybe it was just excitment. my cat just throws her paws at our tank and trys to catch them (its quite funny). She gets really confused as to why she isnt grabbing them. Maybe he's just a curious lil' cat!
he got his claws out maybe because he got excited.
i might be or he just wants to eat it but doesnt know how to get it.
