This means "I don't see the owner" doesn't it? Why would an "a" follow ver?
AL = A + EL
"no veo a el dueño" = "no veo al dueño"
Ver is a transitive verb.
The direct object can be a thing: "Yo veo LA TELEVISIÓN"
But it can also be a person: "Yo veo A LAURA" / "Yo veo a la niña" BUT "Yo veo al niño" (not "a el")
It´d be ungrammatical to say: "Yo veo Laura", "yo veo la niña" or "yo veo el niño". That´s what you need "a" for in this case.
