Genesis 8 shows where Lot offered up his virgin daughters to strangers to protect the angels. Genesis 22&23 Lot and his family escape the meteor shower to the city Zoar. Genesis 24 makes it obvious there was a damaging meteor shower by the description. Genesis 26 says his wife turned into a pillar of salt. I’m assuming she’s still in Zoar when this happens since they haven’t left yet. Genesis 30-33 says he’s just now leaving Zoar with his youngest 2 daughters. Keep in mind his older married daughters were left behind in the meteor shower by the instruction of the angels. Genesis 30-35 states that his virgin daughters saw a need to molest their father in a cave after getting him drunk.

Where’s Abraham? He’s not mentioned again after hard bargaining with God to save people and save Zoar?
Where did the two Angels go after the meteor shower?
Why did Lot leave a perfectly good city to isolate the girls?
Why did his daughters not go back to Zoar, which was proven to be within walking distance of the cave. There were healthy men there within eye sight of the cave? Instead they chose their Dad?

They had already left the city before the destruction occurred. Lot's wife looked back and was destroyed because they were told not to look back. The city was destroyed and the girls could not go back because there was nothing left to go back to. The reason they slept with their father was to preserve male lineage for their father. They both conceived and bore male children, thus preserving Lot's family line. The Bible does not condone this action, merely states that it happened.
As for Abraham, he was not in the valley. He took the hill country because he gave Lot the first choice and Lot chose the better valley land for his flocks. After God finished bargaining with Abraham over the inhabitants of the cities of the valley, the angel was sent to remove Lot and his wife and daughters, so that the wicked could then be destroyed. Abraham was not in the valleys when that happened.
As for the meteor shower, that is modern science trying to explain what happened. It may or may not have been as scientists claim.

Yeah, they are dysfunctional, which I think helps prove the authenticity of the Bible. Think about it. If the Bible wasn't real and people made it up, they would put in only good characters. But since we have these crazy accounts of Lot's family, it just shows the genuineness of the Bible.
