F150 won’t start - is it the anti-theft system, or a dead battery?

So my truck won’t start. No sounds, no turnover, nothing when I turn the key. The FIRST time I tried to start it amd this happened, the anti-theft light on the dash blinked rapidly. I took the key out and it stopped. I know that usually means it’s in anti-theft mode, and the hip in my key may be broken. However, it only did that the first time. Everything I read seems to suggest that it should blink like that whenever I turn the key to the third position, but now when I do it doesn’t blink at all - just the typical blink every two seconds like always.

The reason I’m wondering if it’s the battery is that my lights won’t turn on, inside the cab and headlights. I just don’t want to flag someone down and jump it only to find out it WAS the anti-theft system, and I wasted their time.

Before you ask, I don’t have a code reader, I can’t check with a dealer or customer support because it’s Sunday, and I don’t have access to a spare key because I’m stranded far from home where I keep it. I also need the truck for work tomorrow, so I’m hoping to avoid anything that involves waiting.

Thanks!
