I apparently have to get the new Meningitis shot tomorrow or I can’t xontinue HS (I’m 16 and gonna be a senior this September). I am absolutely terrified of needles, does the needle hurt?
Also, would I be able to ask for a baby needle? I think that would hurt less...
Also, could I ask for the shot to be in my leg? Cause I have to practice volleyball tomorrow and I doubt I’ll be able to if I get the shot in my arm. And does it hurt more/less when you get it in the leg?
Thank you in advance for the help, I just need some tips or something (and if u can answer these questions I’d greatly appreciate it), cause I’m struggling with this right now...thanks all!

1) Yes, shots hurt.
2) The person giving your shot will choose the correct size needle to injection the vaccine into your muscle. A “baby needle” would not be appropriate/effective for a 16 year old. (There’s really no such thing as a specific “baby needle”- there are different sizes/lengths of needles for different uses and sizes of people.)
3) You can ask. I don’t know if it would be more or less painful than a shot in the arm.
They use a very small needle already, it’s not that painful. Watch a video or listen to music. It lasts about 3 seconds.
It's excruciating.
