Do you think we’d be better off bringing our jobs back from China and pay union scale wages?
I think so because it would all but end welfare as well as quell the demand for other social services. Not to mention that with most people employed it would make our tax coffers swell and thereby put us on the path to paying down our national debt.

The choice is to buy one American product that will last 10 years or buy 10 Chinese products that last a year.

The difference is the profit made on Chinese goods and exploiting Chinese workers.

Yes, but we cannot do this the multinational corporations have to do this and they won't. They will do what maximizes profits regardless of what it does to our country. We would have to pass laws, tax laws and others to make this something that they might do. Vote Democratic to have a chance of accomplishing this, Republicans sure won't do it they are too deeply in the corporate pockets.

We wouldn't be better off because prices would be so high for goods that no one would buy anything and then the 15% of Americans who work in retail would all get laid off.
