So the other day in class there was this kid who was messing with my hair and the girl I liked told him to stop. So he stop messing with my hair and I went back to doing my class work but then when I looked over I see her looking at me but she looked kinda sad so then she looked down at the floor

Why not ask her?
It's feasible that she just doesn't like it when kids mess with others' hair or something like that. I don't know for sure what it means, but there is someone who does. Her. So, ask her why she told him to stop. She may have looked sad because she doesn't like it when others are made fun of. Maybe she has some personal experience with that. Who knows? Not me.
No of course we don't know what it meant. We weren't there, and we don't know her. Why did SHE have to tell the guy to stop messing with your hair though? Why didn't YOU turn around and tell him to stop? That part of the story just doesn't feel right.
