i don't want to try them on there. is there any way i can try them on at home?
Update:yeah, but they said they won't give me my prescription, until they're both actually in my eyes. i just don't feel comfortable with putting them on there in front of everyone. i need privacy. they already showed me how to put them in several times, i just can't actually get them in my eyes, because i keep blinking (because i'm nervous). WHY WON'T THEY LET ME BRING THE TRIAL PAIRS HOME?!? They probably think i'm gonna scratch my eyes or something. I think it's a liability thing. but, do you know of any vision centers WITH NO LIABILITIES?!? My mom paid over a hundred dollars for the fitting, and I CAN'T GET MY PRESCRIPTION ALL BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THEM IN MY EYES THERE?!? I KNOW HOW TO DO IT BY MYSELF. I JUST WANNA BE ALONE IN MY OWN ROOM. I DON'T WANT ALL THESE PEOPLE STARING AT ME!!!
Update 3:@Footprintz No, they didn't have prescription in them. they told me they didn't. i don't think you would know if you weren't there. i just told you i know how to put them in and take them off BY MYSELF. I don't need help, and if i did i could easily just watch a video on how to AT HOME. So are you saying my mom can't get her money back if she paid over a hundred dollars for the fitting? They aren't giving me the prescription that she paid to have done. That's not fair if you ask me.
Update 5:again, there was no prescription in these lenses. they were just trial lenses to practice with they told me. i live in the united states. maybe it's different here. idk.

Stop being such a child. Act more mature and you will probably be able to do it.
You HAVE to do it at the office so we can show you how. We can't let you leave with them until we know you can take them out again . You would look real smart at home getting them in after hours of trying, then not being able to remove them at 11 PM....what would you do ?
If you can't learn with an instructor in front of you , then you never will.
The trial lenses DO have your prescription in them . Trials wouldn't be of much use otherwise.
There is no such thing as a vision center with no liabilities...the law is the law.
EDIT *****
If you can do it , then do it and get it over with. WE HAVE TO KNOW YOU CAN REMOVE THEM !
The only lenses made with no prescription in them are colored lenses. Your trial lenses are clear , so they have prescription....
Honey....the eye doctor needs to see the lenses when they are in your eyes to make sure that they fit properly ON YOUR EYE. Generally, when I go to the ophthalmologist, they have a mirror set up on the counter in the bathroom, so if you are really this worried about putting your contacts in, in front of trained professionals btw, then perhaps you can ask if there is a room you can use? But you will HAVE to let the doctor examine you with them in you eyes....LIFE is not always fair, especially if you don't follow the rules!
They won't let you take it home to put in. They have to be in your eyes before you leave.
It's not a liability issue - they need to make sure that the contacts actually fit your eyes. Yes, they have different "size" contacts. That's why you have to put them in before they give you the actual prescription.
The payment isn't just for the fitting - it's mainly for the prescription.
I live in NY, and my trial lenses have a prescription. I've been wearing contacts for 10 years now, and the process hasn't changed one bit.
Honestly, you may want privacy, but don't assume that everyone's staring at you. My optometrist and her receptionist do other things so I can put the lenses in without distractions. Just ask them to turn around if it bothers you that much and if you have any questions, you'll ask.
I honestly do not see what the problem here is, you'd just be putting them on in front of an eye doctor. They just need to make sure they fit your eyes the right way and that you can actually see out of them. If you had trial lenses then they had prescription in them, when I had trial lenses they had prescription. If they didn't you would NOT be able to see. It's really no big deal, just pop them in at the eye doctor so you can take them home. Good luck.
