A group of men working together at the same rate can finish a job in 45 hours. However, the men report to work singly at equal intervals over a period of time. Once on the job, however, each man stays until the job is finished. If the first man works five times as many hours as the last man, find the number of hours the first man works.
And for an additional 3 points bonus to all who answer correctly, how many men are there?

I can't be bothered to work out the answer but would like to know how you think you can give a "3 point bonus" ?
5 guys arrive every hour and a half.
The first guy works 12 hours
The last guy works 6 hours
1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 12
1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 10.5
1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 9
1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 7.5
1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 6
27.5 * 1.5 =
Total = 45 hours
I was a quant in another life.
And your legal question is???????????????
