thanks kevin exactly what i got, the 4th root of 2 is what threw me off.
trig form: sqrt(2) * (cos pi/4 + i * sin pi/4)
square roots: (fourth root)(2) * (cos pi/8 + i * sin pi/8) and
(fourth root)(2) * (cos 9pi/8 + i * sin 9pi/8)
[You can convert these angles to degrees also, of course]
sqrt(2) * cos t + i*sqrt(2)*sin t
