Why won’t my hives go away?

I’m a 16 year old girl and I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and several unidentified digestion problems. I have never had a previous out break of hives before.

About three weeks ago, I just woke up in really bad hives for no reason. I hadn’t changed anything I normally do and my mom said she had changed the fabric softener recently. She immediately changed it to Dreft within the same day. I went to my doctor and she gave me a shot (she didn’t tell us what kind), and also prescribed a week dose of steroids. During that week, I continued to break out pretty badly all over my body (arms, side of torso, and upper and inner thighs). And every single night for the past week now, I’ve woken up in the middle of the night in EXTREME hives. My whole body becomes more and more covered each time and it continues to grow uncomfortable and embarrassing. I should mention I take four-six doses of Benadryl a day because of it and it makes me sleep 24/7. And my hives never pop up during the day, only when i’m about to sleep or I’m sleeping. Right before I go to bed (around 11-1) I’ll notice tiny, red, pin sized dots that eventually become a hive.

I would really love some advice because I’m in a really tough position currently! I hate waking up in the middle of the night to discover itchy, hot patches all over my body. It’s really taking a toll on my menta health thought that wasn’t even good to begin with. I don’t want to have to wear long sleeve shirts and pants all summer long!
