There is no such thing as "military style semi automatic weapons." The AR-15 was for years rejected by the military, so to classify it as a military style weapon or built for military purposes is inaccurate.

He, like many of us are for common sense regulations. Perhaps more children would be alive today if we did. You have to understand, the NRA is very powerful and they play on American's fears and use extremes as talking points. So if you plan to ban an AR-15, then they come out with slogans like "they're banning all guns!" or "they're leaving grandma open to attack in the middle of the night". When the Assault Weapons Ban was passed in the 90's it kept thousands of convicted felons from getting guns/rifles. But nobody wants to remember that.
