You don't have problems, you just have slightly misplaced interest. We all do this with fictional characters at one point or another in our lives.
I used to have the hugest crush on Roman Mayfair from Anne Rice's Witches novels (later blended with her vampire series). Anyway, the thing to focus on isn't the intense crush feeling, but the aspects of the character that you like.
What is it about EC that makes you feel so strongly about him? Keeping track of these details, instead of fixating on the image you've created of the fictional EC, can help you in your quest for real meaningful relationships in your life.
I know this probably sounds like a bunch of boring mumbo-jumbo, but trust me. Finding a resilient, self-sufficient, strong-willed, powerful, and passionate woman took me a bit longer than I'd have liked, but we've been wearing each other's rings going on 2 1/2 years now. Her name isn't Rowan, but that doesn't make much of a difference when it's a question of flesh and blood rather than ink and paper. :-)
i don't know for sure. he is absolutely amazing, but i find jasper to be more intriguing. after the whole situation in breaking dawn, i was sort of angry with edward. that definantly didn't last though.
btw, i probably have more problems than you do character obsession wise. (harry potter, ron weasley, edward, jasper, emmett, multiple video game characters). they have a name for us though. fangirls.
