I don't like when people fish for compliments, but when someone asks me this, I try to be tactful. Occasionally a close friend of mine has asked my opinion on outfits, hair, etc. I am vague but she always sees through it and calls me on it. I just tell her that it may not be something I would wear, but if she likes it that's all that matters!
Just ask the person if she likes her new hair style. If she likes it then say good for you! By asking her if she likes it- it takes the pressure off of you to lie or to tell how you really feel..
ha ha ha. Put yourself in the person asking the question's shoes. Would you want someone to lie to you to make you feel good or tell you the painful truth?
Once you find the answer then follow this rule "treat others as you would want them to treat you."

I tell the truth.
I don't lie, it's counterproductive.
Consequently, I have people asking me my opinion all the time, because they KNOW I will answer truthfully.
