I was riding along in the back seat of the car and I don't even know how old I was but outside on the road was like a case of beer that was at one point in time thrown out of another car and then run over by yet another car. For some reason, out of nowhere I said, "Look at all those beer cans and jazzerwockie." And that last word kind of stuck with me because everybody thought it was hilarious. To this day, I think I made it up, but it's very possible that I may have been watching Alice in Wonderland before that and tried to use the word Jabberwocky but got it wrong. That sounds logical, but I don't recall seeing that until some time later.
Not sure but I remember the Christmas Eve of 2004 which was a Friday. I remember going to church with my mom and siblings. Then, I remember going to my grandparent’s house that night.
I remember quite a lot from about age 2.5 up. It's sad raising your own kids and knowing they probably won't remember anything from before age 4 really, but some do remember further back (even without stories or photos to jog or create mimicked memories). It's easier for me to know what age my memories come from because we moved at a particular time just before I reached age 4.
I can remember ripping camellia blossoms off of a shrub at the older place and watching them fall on the ground, a pair of crazy full-grown dalmatians knocking me down, a water moccasin that my father had to kill because it was sunning itself on the top step of our back porch, then seeing it on the woodpile the next day, turned inside out, skin only. I remember feeding our rooster and his jumping on my back while I was in my sandbox, and that was about age 3. Lots of little memories of snacks and a quiet book during church. Clothes my mother wore that matched mine. My mother. Seeing snow for the first time on a trip that was confirmed as having taken place when I was almost 3 years old.
