What does it mean when someone tells you they´re going day-by-day?
I have a friend spending his last days in Germany and I asked him how he´s doing. He said he´s OK, just going day-by-day. What he meant by that. I´m not native english speaker so I get confused by terms sometimes.
Is that homesick maybe or otherwise?

it means he is taking it one day at a time, not getting worked up about the future, or about what has happened in the past. he is staying focused on the present, not future or past. very possibly homesick, but trying to not put too much energy into the thought
