We are here in spain thru a govt sponsored contract on official visas..... we arrived on schengen visa and were reendorsed with spanish visas upon expiry of 90days. currently we plan to visit france and austria for 3-4 days.... we checked out and were informed that wewil have ot apply for country visas since our visa was "VALID FOR" spain only (first entry on the EU visas)

we approached the french embassy with filled visa forms. but they didnot accept the forms stating that even though it has been issued for and ("valid for" column on the top of visa) spain, it is also valid for rest of the schengen states, since it is a Type C visa.....

it was quite confusing situation......

will type c visa that is "VALID FOR" spain, be valid for all the schengen states or just france?, plus is there any evidence, which embassy provides for this as well?

our trip is 3 days in france and 2 days in austria and may be 1 day in italy...
