Hos. 4:6 my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because yo have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
That is a powerful statement. The bible continues to prove its authenticity.
The post thus far shows that too many reject knowledge and God's Law.
If God wanted is to celebrate Christ birth He would have given us a date. However, he did give the date of the Passover (death date).
If one would study the time in which these events unfolded you will discover that birthday celebration were and are pagan customs. Jesus was Jewish. He adhered to the customs of the Jews. Since Jews did not celebrate birthdays, neither did Christ. The wise men(kings where not at the birth of Christ. They were sent to be witnesses of the Messiah being with us on earth.
It is a Jewish custom to celebrate a great man's death. The Passover.
Malachi 2:8
But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty.
The early Christians probably were already celebrating and commemorating the life and death of Christ. The bible was written quite a ways afterwards. Incorporation of the feast days were local though, since there was no central authority.
We don't really know the earliest activities of the young church: what they did every day, what sort of meetings they held, what they told one another, what sort of direction the church was supposed to go in. All we have from the early church is the Divine Liturgy of St James and the Divine Liturgy of St Peter. These were both written well before the gospels were put to paper.
So, if the early church wrote down the liturgies, one can assume that they spent a lot of time talking about what happened regarding Jesus.
But then, 70 years later, the Romans destroyed Jerusalem....and all the Christians left that city a couple years beforehand
There is no biblical basis for Jehovah’s Witnesses not celebrating Christmas/birth of Christ Jesus. In fact there is several scriptures that refute their unwarranted stand.
In Luke chapter 2 the precedence was set by heavenly angels and the shepherds that witnessed, that God himself celebrated the birth of Jesus along with the angels and men on earth.
Luke 2: 9 And suddenly Jehovah’s angel stood by them, and Jehovah’s glory gleamed around them, and they became very fearful. 10 But the angel said to them: “Have no fear, for, look! I am declaring to YOU good news of a great joy that all the people will have, 11 because there was born to YOU today a Savior, who is Christ [the] Lord, in David’s city. 12 And this is a sign for YOU: YOU will find an infant bound in cloth bands and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there came to be with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God and saying: 14 “Glory in the heights above to God, and upon earth peace among men of goodwill.” NWT
Jw’s completely ignore the above celebration, almost as if this event never happened.
I cannot even imagine the sound of one angel singing praise, let alone the awe inspiring music (Christmas symphonies) that a HEAVENLY ARMY of spirit creatures singing would produce. Celebration is hardly a word that would suffice to depict this event. More like a once in a biblical lifetime event. It is the only reference in the scriptures to such a grand celebration.
Yet Jehovah’s Witnesses will denigrate and say they cannot stand to hear beautiful Christmas music that mere men have composed in honor of Jesus birth. I wonder if they would turn their backs on the HEAVENLY ARMY of angels making music about his birth?
The Apostle Paul completely destroys the Watchtower’s interpretation as regards the celebrating of Christ’s birth. Attaching the label ‘pagan’ does not hold up to what Paul says in Colossians 2.
16 Therefore let no man judge YOU in eating and drinking or in respect of a festival or of an observance of the new moon or of a Sabbath; 17 for those things are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to the Christ” NWT
Paul knew that the animal sacrifices, festivals, Sabbaths, of the old law covenant had no more importance to Christians. In fact it can be said that these old celebrations were now to be considered PAGAN and not to be practiced anymore! Did he impose his thinking or make up a rule?
Pagan simply means: “A person not adhering to any major or recognized religion, especially a heathen or non-Christian” So Paul could have told the Colossians that practice of such celebrations were PAGAN, yet he did not do so.
The leadership of the Watchtower starting with Judge Rutherford imposed his own ruling, his own ideas, his own JUDGEMENT on the matter of celebrating Christ’s birth.
Paul condemns this practice in the same chapter of Colossians 2:
“20 If YOU died together with Christ toward the elementary things of the world, why do YOU, as if living in the world, further subject yourselves to the decrees: 21 “Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch,” 22 respecting things that are all destined to destruction by being used up, in accordance with the commands and teachings of men? 23 Those very things are, indeed, possessed of an appearance of wisdom in a self-imposed form of worship and [mock] humility, a severe treatment of the body; but they are of no value in combating the satisfying of the flesh.”
The DECREES made by the Watchtower society against celebrating Christmas do not hold up to biblical inspection. In fact the majority of the decrees or “self imposed” restrictions of “Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch” and the list is long for jw's, have no basis in the bible or as Paul so clearly stated “no value in combating the satisfying of the flesh”.
the death of the godly ones is precious in the sight of the LORD. [Psalm 116: 15] and in [Ecclesiastes 7: 1] A good name is better than a good ointment, and the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth.
but it is not in the Holy Scriptures/Bible that the day of birth or the day of death should be celebrated. in the Christian era celebrations and festivities invented and commanded by men are already being discouraged by the Lord Jesus Christ through the apostle Paul in [Colossians 2: 16-19] Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day----things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
Leviticus 23:4-5 KJV These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. (5) In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.
Luke 22:15-20 GNB He said to them, "I have wanted so much to eat this Passover meal with you before I suffer! (16) For I tell you, I will never eat it until it is given its full meaning in the Kingdom of God." (17) Then Jesus took a cup, gave thanks to God, and said, "Take this and share it among yourselves. (18) I tell you that from now on I will not drink this wine until the Kingdom of God comes." (19) Then he took a piece of bread, gave thanks to God, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in memory of me." (20) In the same way, he gave them the cup after the supper, saying, "This cup is God's new covenant sealed with my blood, which is poured out for you.
1 Corinthians 11:23-25 KJV (23) For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: (24) And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. (25) After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
It's true ~ we're not told to celebrate the birth of Christ, or even his death and Resurrection. Jesus only told us to commemorate one thing ~ the last supper. He said, "As often as you do this, do it in remembrance of me."
However, it's not wrong for us to remember his birth, his death and resurrection. The actual dates of these events are unknown. The Roman Catholic Church came up with them based on their "Christianizing" of pagan practices.

We are to commemorate His death once a year at Passover.
1Cor 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread & drink thgis cup, you proclaim the Master's death until He comes.

I wouldn't say it's not allowed.
It has it's part in scripture that it was great that the messiah was born, and through a virgin birth.
However I don't really celebrate Christmas. However if someone does it with a focus on God, so be it.
And Lord Jesus' role is really emphasized in his sacrifice and death on the cross, so that people could have eternal life through the blood of Jesus.

This isn't to argue but breaking bread and/or the last super is about fellow-shipping in the NT or in Yahushuwah's Way of life.
All praise be to Yahuwah in the name Yahushuwah!
The Sabbath could be the seventh day or it could be everyday depending on how close one is to entering in the Father's rest.
god had the shepherds celebrate his birth
god had the kings of the east celebrate his birth
we don't need permission to celebrate a birth especially jesus birth
