I would guess that a war with Iraq was inevitable at some point in our future at the time as long as Saddam was in power. I would only question the timing and reasoning behind some of the forces in starting the war at the time. We now know that a significant amount of our "intel" at the time was a bit "off" or over dramatic and in some cases downright false. To this day we still haven't found any evidence of "WMD's" and what evidence we have found suggests that the sites weren't used since prior to the first Gulf War. Still yet, I think that some sort of conflict was going to happen due to Saddam's rule.
My only issue was that it seems maddening to start to combat operations, Afghanistan and Iraq. I think we should have used more diplomatic solutions with Saddam while we focused all our efforts for 9/11 retribution.
I supposed it comes down to which country has the most monetary gain, that being Ira due to its large oil surplus and the fact that Saddam had been waiving his finger at us for years.
No. And while I think you should do your own homework I will give you a couple of my thoughts.
The US is not the world police. We have no right to tell others how to live or their governments how to operate. We have been doing that for far too many years to our own detriment. In the end, what do we get in return? Nothing!
Had we left Iraq alone, Saddam would have continued to oppress his people until somebody got tired of it and general revolution broke out or he was assassinated. Yeah, a whole bunch of Iraqi citizens would have died but they died as a result of us being there too. The difference is that we spent a lot of money and wasted a lot of lives of our children.
We do not belong in other countries enforcing our will on them. Nor should we be there protecting them from their own inability to get along with their neighbors. It is not our place or right to do so.
Yes. We have to show m*thafuckers who's boss. Everyone that keeps b*tching about not going to war Im ok with that because that's what I fight for. Freedom of speech. I cant really say if we should have or shouldn't have because there some things that the president knows that we don't. So how are we going to say that we should or shouldn't when we can't even see the bigger picture? War is a part of life. Embrace it. If you think the world can go with out war...well your just completely irrational and need to come out of your imaginary land and into the real world.
No cause bush thought they was building nukes but they was not building nukes. The only reason we are there now is to help to settle down the fighting that they are doing (Sunni Muslims v Shia Muslims)
i think if was not a war right now the USA would be greater in wealth right now.
yes
its all apart of the new world order
of coures
the very idea
of not having control of your government, MAKES SOME PEOPLE FEEL NOT SAFE
or have doubts
but in the end
9/11
obama being the apparent savior
and all the new outlets are feed with information that makes us americans feel the way they want us to feel
when we all die
and go to heaven
perhaps the truth can be revealed to everyone.
until than feel free, to call me an idiot, and feel free to bash me with blind hatred
No, there was not enough information for bush to justify his invasion of Iraq. We had a good reason for going into Afghanistan (they attacked NYC), but Iraq, no.
No, and the points are NOT an issue.
We had no business in Nam, and we had even less in Iraq.
Can not make it any simpler than that.
Yes
is this just out of personal curiosity or for "your" homework?
yes because the Iraqi were putting pressure on Quwait and the us army had to stop them
