I work in the human resources department of a manufacturing plant. I’ve been with the company for 3 years and I’ve been given good opportunities and promoted 3 times since my hire date. I know with certainty that my boss thinks highly of my work ethic and appreciates me, but she is relentless, and insists on micro-managing everyone and everything. She is controlling, judgmental, highly opinionated and domineering. It’s her way or the high way.
But what’s worse is how depressing and toxic the company’s work environment is as a whole. Our average turnover rate is nearly 50 percent, which basically means we’re turning over people as quickly as we’re hiring them. Supervisors treat employees with no respect; they yell and degrade often.
I personally am well compensated but 40 percent of employees make minimum wage. The plant is located in a depressed, low-income town with a high substance abuse rate. I am not working with the kind of people I want to be working with.
And lastly, leadership is very oppressing. Employees complain about the operations management all the time, but my boss never does a thing about it. So this makes me think she won’t do anything if I voice my concerns either. Since I am well liked and respected by leadership and management, I feel like I should keep my mouth shut and that speaking up will only come back to haunt me. But I am so miserable at this job now. I’ve already started looking elsewhere but I’m not expecting to leave in a month or so. Advice?

If you're talking about the company in general, yes. But if your focus is her work style, no, will come back to haunt you
WOW... manufacturing employees complain about management = SHOCKER (not).
A shocker would be manufacturing employees not complaining.
Are your co-worker's complaints justified?
If you were in your VPs shoes, what would you want changed and how would you expect it to happen?
Isn't of voicing your concerns, voice solutions.
And the turnover rate is meaningless unless you compare it to similar companies.
If other manufacturing facilities in your area have a turnover rate of 75%, you are doing fantastic.
you have a few choices
if your company has an anonymous tip line type of thing, then make your views known that way
if that's not available, then you can type ( NOT hand write as your writing may be known ) your grievances and send them to the corporate office.........send it anon or w/your name if you think there will not be backlash
look for employment elsewhere
I suggest NOT confronting any management
