OK, since i was very little I feel SO seriously scared and absolutly disgusted by fish... all wel and slippery... I dont eat them, i dont like to see them in any way: alive swimming, dead, cooked, anything!!!! At the supermarket if I HAVE to pass next to teh fish section I have to close my eyes while cuz I cant stand to see them.. the same when we go to the beach and other ppl eat fried whole fish.. is soo disgusting. There's a commercial right now in my cuntry that shows a golden fish drawning and jumping.. just being writing about this and remembering it freaks me out. When teh commercial in on I scream and close my eyes and change the channel inmediatly.. it's so extremely annoying and disgusting for me.
Don't even talk about doing snorkel or submarinism...
Why this? I dont remember to have any bad experience w this animals.. just when I was like 7 I was helping to cut veggies at my house cuz they where doing fish soup.. and suddenly mu uncle called me.. and when I turned...
Update:my head... he was holding this HUGE dead fish head as a joke I guess (it was sooo ugly!) and of course I totaaly freaked out and screaaaamed and ran away crying! Thsi was like the first time I had a close distance w this animal... May this be the cause of my actitude to fish?
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW i hate theeeeem

Hi,
I think you've answered why you feel this way. It's incredible what one experience can do to you. I had a similar fear of birds and that's because a baby budgie got its claws trapped in my jumper when I was young and it flapped and flapped beside my face and terrified me. For years and years and years I was nervous of anything with wings including butterflies!
Then we got a budgie for my daughter and I forced myself to touch it and I trained it and slowly my fear disappeared. We went to Venice a few years ago and I stood in St Mark's Square with pigeons flying all around me and knew I had conquered my fear.
If you're bothered by your fish phobia, introduce yourself slowly to fish. Perhaps you can get a couple of gold fish - they can be great to watch. Let them nibble your fingers. There are so many beautiful fish. Try to appreciate their beauty. Try looking at them through different eyes. Take it slowly and you could conquer this phobia.

phobias are thoroughly ordinary issues... something ought to set it off, whether it wasnt certainly a fish or at hour of darkness... in step with probability you had a field on your head, or a dream approximately fishes...
