Does the deforestation essay have to be related to trees?
Try something along the lines of how it impacts the habitats of it's surrounding animals or why it's happening.
For example: Deforestation is happening all over the world in some cases it is done to create or gain resources from the earth or wood of the trees and in other cases can be done to make room for new towns or cities, the impact of deforestation is harming the habitats of animals leaving so many creatures without a home or food.
Option 1
Enriching the forests is an encompassing mission where the involvement of more helping hands is the heart of its success. By gathering all stakeholders in this noble task, more trees are planted, kept alive and nurtured until they survive on their own and help restore the richness of the earth.

A tree begins its life when its roots are firmly planted in nature’s soils. Because of this unique ability to stay rooted on the ground, a tree is highly vulnerable to damaging factors that pose a risk to its survival. It must continue to fend for itself—with help from nurturing hands—for it to continue to thrive.
In the entire cycle of reforestation, nurturing the trees is the most important—and intensive—task of all...
Option 2
For centuries, our forest has has served as every country's ecological birthright with its vast forest cover, abundant natural resources and enormous water basins. It benefits society in numerous ways including greater food yields, more medicine sources and cleaner air and water.
However, due to economic opportunities the forest presents, it has been subject to various man-made interventions that only led to its degradation. Century-old native and endemic trees have been logged for their high-value timber. Large portions of the forest cover have been cleared for agricultural, residential and industrial purposes to support so-called urban development. As of XX, (a country) lost over (xx)% of its original forest of over 500 years, making it one of the countries with the highest annual rate of deforestation. Water shortage incidences spike up, more species become instinct and climate change became the most discussed issue of the decade.
With this alarming rate of deforestation, efforts to restore and conserve the forests were made even more pronounced. By doing reforestation, a society ensures that trees continuously brim with life, serving their purpose inthis elaborate cycle of giving back to the earth.
